Welcome to my blog!
Born and raised in Canada, I studied French and Public Service at uni, and moved to London in 2014 to fulfill my dream of living and travelling abroad. I've got a bunch of great flatmates, a wonderful family back across the pond (including a twin sister who I reference a lot), and the entirety of London and all the beauty, light and life it has to offer at my feet!
I love the 80s, fashion, the performing arts (specifically musicals and ballet), and pretty much everything about London. I'm obsessed with walking around Soho and marvelling at the people, the buildings, and the idea that I am lucky enough to live here!
Instead of going on and on about myself, I'd like to share with you some things I'm really passionate about. Click the links below to find out more!
Body Positivity - links to a great tumblr page featuring images and quotes to remind you that hey, all bodes are wonderful, and we don't have to bow to society's ableist, sexist, and body-shaming rituals.
Feminism - there are so many links I could have put here, but I thought I'd just keep it simple. Remember that being a feminist means that you are pro EQUALITY FOR ALL - it's not about hating men!
Ovarian Cancer and the BRCA Gene - links from Ovarian Cancer Canada and Cancer Research UK. My sister and I co-chaired an ovarian cancer walk in 2013; the cause is near and dear to us as we lost our mother to the disease in 2012 and both of us carry the BRCA2 gene mutation. This is the reason why the blog exists.
The Saison Poetry Library at the Southbank Centre - I LIVE for poetry and write a lot of it in my spare time. This library is gorgeous and hosts some really cool events - at the moment, they're hosting David Byrne's personal collection of music books. (So awesome.)
